Applies to: all users of vsnd.org and any related services we operate (“VSNDirectory”, “VSND”, “we”, “our”, “us”).

1) Privacy & Data Collection

We don’t sell or share personal data.

• We don’t require an account to browse public pages.
• If you create an account or submit a form, we only process what you provide to run the feature (e.g., name, email, listing details).
• No third-party ad trackers. We do not use behavioral ad networks.
• Minimal server logs. Like most websites, our servers may record IP address, user-agent, and timestamps solely for security, abuse prevention, and basic reliability. These logs rotate and are not used to profile users.
• Cookies. We use essential cookies (e.g., session, CSRF). If you opt into optional features (e.g., saved preferences), a cookie may store that setting on your device.
• Geolocation. If you click “Use My Location,” your browser may share approximate coordinates directly to your device to improve distance sorting. We do not store precise location unless you submit it as part of a listing.
• Deletion. If you created an account or submitted content and want it removed, email us (see contact below) from the same email address you used.

If we ever add analytics or new features that change this, we’ll update this page and label the change clearly.

2) Community Rules (Zero Tolerance)

VSND exists to help veterans and families find support. We do not tolerate:

• Hate speech, slurs, or demeaning content targeting race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, or veteran status.
• Racial or discriminatory Calls to Action (e.g., organizing or promoting exclusionary or extremist events).
• Harassment, threats, doxxing, incitement to violence, or glorification of self-harm.
• Fraud, scams, impersonation, or deceptive listings.
• Illegal content or instructions to commit illegal acts.
• Pornography, sexual services, or explicit adult content.
• Malware, phishing, or attempts to circumvent platform security.

Enforcement: We may remove content, suspend or terminate accounts immediately, and where required, report conduct to appropriate authorities.

3) Listings & Events

• Accuracy. Submit truthful, up-to-date information. If your services change, update or remove your listing.
• No discrimination. Events and services must be open per applicable civil rights laws.
• Verification. We may request documentation (e.g., nonprofit/organization status) and may decline or remove unverified or misleading entries at our sole discretion.
• Third-party links. You’re responsible for any websites you link. We may remove links that violate these rules.

4) Reporting Problems

If you see content that breaks these rules—or content that threatens safety—please report it using any in-product report link or email us (see contact). For immediate danger or medical emergencies, call local emergency services first.

5) Moderation Process

• Triage: Safety and zero-tolerance violations are prioritized.
• Actions: Content removal, warnings, temporary suspension, or permanent ban.
• Appeals: If you think we made a mistake, reply to our notice or email us with context. We’ll review in good faith.
• Repeat offenses: Repeated or severe violations will result in permanent removal.

6) Intellectual Property

• Your content. You retain ownership of content you submit. By posting, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide license to host, display, and distribute it on vsnd.org to operate the service.
• DMCA/Removal. If you believe your IP rights are infringed, contact us with: your contact info, the work, the URL(s), and a good-faith statement of unauthorized use. We honor valid takedown requests.

7) Disclaimers

• Information only. Listings are provided by users or organizations. We do not guarantee accuracy, availability, or fitness for a particular purpose.
• No professional advice. Content on vsnd.org is not legal, medical, or financial advice. Consult a qualified professional.
• Third-party services. We’re not responsible for external sites or services linked from vsnd.org.

8) Liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, VSND and its operators are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the site, including decisions made based on listings or content here.

9) Changes

We may update these policies to reflect new features, legal requirements, or safety needs. If we make material changes, we’ll post the new effective date and, when reasonable, provide an in-product notice.
